About

Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS)

Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS)

Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS) is a social service agency that provides early intervention, special education, rehabilitation services, day activity center programs, vocational training, and gainful employment for persons with cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities in Singapore.

Through active advocacy and support of equal opportunities for all persons with cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities, CPAS hopes to empower individuals by helping them realize their full potential and lead fulfilling, dignified lives. As part of The Grid's CSR program, we have provided complimentary platform access to CPAS, with the hope of helping them secure more donors.

Challenges

Challenges

Alex shared that as a registered charity, CPAS relied heavily on corporate donors for funding. This meant that reaching out to new corporate partners was important if CPAS wanted to finance the expansion of services and programs offered. At the same time, it was crucial for potential donors to align with CPAS in their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) to establish a meaningful working relationship. This proved to be very challenging.

"Before we were able to access The Grid’s full services, it was difficult for us to outreach to new corporate partners. We had to rely on general inquiry forms or general company emails to reach out to companies, which often got lost in the deluge of emails." Response rates were poor because they could not reach key decision-makers.

Solution

Solution

With The Grid, Alex could research potential partners and reach key decision-makers directly. "The Grid has made a significant difference for us by allowing us to target specific positions in companies, such as marketing or human resources, which have been more responsive to us. We can also filter by seniority to ensure that we are reaching out to the right people." Response rates have since improved. Based on 100 emails sent out, about 5 to 10 would respond and become warm leads that may bear fruit in due time. The company intelligence on The Grid has also enabled Alex to search for partners in positions of diversity and inclusion and onboard those that are a good fit for the charity.

Results

By reaching the right people directly, Alex has been able to secure table purchases and sponsored items from new companies for CPAS's biggest fundraising event of the year, their annual Charity Dinner. "In the past, we relied on personal contacts or previous sponsors, but now we are starting to get new sponsors from various industries including hospitality, fashion, entertainment and consumer electronics that we have never worked with before. This would have been very difficult without The Grid's help. We were able to reach these companies and start conversations because of The Grid’s ability to find key stakeholders in human resources and marketing departments. With our targeted outreach, we managed to secure all our required Charity Dinner sponsors months in advance.

The Grid sped up our auction item procurement stage significantly, with one of our new sponsors, providing us with headphones within an hour of us reaching out to them. Apart from the Charity Dinner, Alex is also on track to help CPAS achieve its goal of raising funds to renovate an old playroom into a comprehensive, therapeutic play environment for children with cerebral palsy & multiple disabilities as part of their Early Intervention Programme for Infants & Children (EIPIC). The new partner working with CPAS for this major project was secured through a targeted outreach strategy utilizing the Grid’s tool.”This project will be our first wish-list item fulfilled by a completely new partner we got through The Grid. It's been a very exciting development, and I cannot wait to see the impact of this project for our clients. We are grateful for all the help The Grid has provided in our fundraising efforts.”
