SMA Negeri 84 Jakarta was established in 1986 and is located at Jalan Utan Jati Kalideres, West Jakarta. Initially, the building was used as a SMP DKI, but due to the lack of a SMA Negeri in the area at the time, the Department of Education (Depdikbud) transferred its use for a new SMA school.
