The A*STAR Infectious Diseases (ID) Labs was established in 2021 to consolidate multi-disciplinary capabilities around infectious diseases research, with a focus on enhancing preparedness and filling gaps learned from COVID-19. The Bioinformatics Institute (BII) is a research and postgraduate training institute established in 2001, located in Biopolis, Singapore. BII aims to understand biomolecular mechanisms through computational methods, analyzing various types of biological and clinical data, including omics data, 3D protein structures, and biological tissue images. Our research focuses on infectious diseases, computational toxicology, natural product research, precision medicine, cancer, and drug discovery, and we collaborate with local and international academic, hospital, and industry partners.

The Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) is dedicated to advancing our understanding of the mechanistic basis of human diseases through cutting-edge discovery research in disease pathways. Our mission is to train and recruit scientific talent, contribute to the development of other research entities in Singapore's R&D ecosystem, and collaborate with medical and industry communities to maximize research impact. Our research focuses on four pillars of scientific programs: Neurometabolism in Health & Diseases, Cancer Signaling & Therapies, Cell Biology & Therapies, and Innovative Technologies. We have developed various technologies and platforms, including mouse models of diseases, molecular histopathology, cellular microscopy, proteomics & metabolomics, and the Molecular Engineering Laboratory. A*STAR's Institute of Bioengineering and Bioimaging (IBB) conducts interdisciplinary research at the intersection of biology, chemistry, engineering, artificial intelligence, and medicine. The institute focuses on three key areas: Biomedical Devices & Diagnostics, Bioengineering Systems, and Biophotonics & Bioimaging. IBB collaborates with various partners to develop innovative solutions in strategic areas such as cancer, infectious diseases, and food and nutrition.
