We achieve our mission by applying a very powerful biocidal chemistry – chlorine dioxide – to the target environmental surface or medical device. We are one of a very few companies worldwide that can legitimately claim to be exclusively an infection prevention business. Our mission is most relevant to hospitals where the risks of infection to individuals are highest. We have two key areas of focus in the hospital: i) the high-level disinfection of medical devices. Our medical device disinfectants product range is branded Tristel, and ii) the sporicidal disinfection of environmental surfaces. Our surface disinfectants product range is branded Cache.

It has four principal activities: •tMedical Instrument Disinfection under the Tristel brand - High-level and sporicidal solutions for the disinfection of medical instruments are at the core of the Tristel product portfolio and harness the biocidal power of chlorine dioxide. •tHospital Surface Disinfection under the Cache brand - Incorporates the same technology that made Tristel products successful: a proprietary chlorine dioxide chemistry of unmatched efficacy, ease of use and compatibility. •tCleanroom, pharma and lab under the Crystel brand - offers highly effective detergents and disinfectants for the Pharmaceutical, Personal Care and NHS Pharmacy Markets. •tInfection prevention in animal healthcare under the Anistel brand – supplies infection control solutions to Veterinary Practices, Animal Welfare Institutions and Kennels & Catteries. The Tristel story began in 1993 when the founding shareholders developed a proprietary chlorine dioxide formulation to be used for the disinfection of flexible endoscopes to replace glutaraldehyde. Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is a broad spectrum biocide with proven activity against bacteria, viruses, yeasts, mycobacteria and bacterial spores when tested against European test norms. It is widely used in medical and pharmaceutical environments, and also in various applications such as drinking water treatment and the washing and treatment of food stuffs. ClO2 has a proven public record of being a high-level sporicidal disinfectant in contact times as short as 30 seconds. Tristel’s performance validated within a wide range of peer-reviewed scientific publications.
