On October 1, 2011, Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited acquired Nycomed. Through the acquisition, Takeda, the largest pharma company in Asia, broadened its coverage of the global pharmaceutical market, especialy in Europe and emergig markets. Takeda Ventures, Inc. (TVI) is the corporate investment arm of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (TPC). TVI was founded in 2001 and invests in current and future areas of interest for TPC. We are based alongside Takeda’s R&D site in Cambridge, MA. Takeda Ventures focuses on high-caliber therapeutic and platform based opportunities around the world. We invest in preclinical therapeutic platform opportunities that complement Takeda’s pipeline and products. Our mission is to create strategic growth opportunities for Takeda by investing and nurturing innovative Life Science Companies in areas aligned with Takeda’s R&D foci which include; Oncology, Gastroenterology/Inflammation, and Neuroscience.
