The First Chapter James, by the grace of God, King of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, Defender of the faith doth proclaim that whereas our loving and well disposed subjects Sir Ivan Gates and Sir George Somers, knights and diverse others of our loving subjects have been humble suitors unto us that we would bequeath unto them our license to make habitation, plantation and deduce a colony. The year was 1606 and that was the beginning of The First Real Estate Company in North America. It was called The London Company. Within 25 years the original Company was gone but the name lived on. In 1971 The House of London was incorporated in Fresno, California. During the next 15 years the London Company worked exclusively in Commercial Industrial Real Estate. In 1973, we opened our Residential Division, London Properties Ltd. Despite our diversification, or perhaps because of it, now London Properties has become one of the largest Real Estate companies in America with over 450 Sales Associates and support staff.
