In 1999, Hvper Sport co founders Eddie Chua and Shirley Tay started their first flagship store in a 400 square feet shop at East Coast Park. Their business activity mainly consisted of retailing and supplying skate apparels to the other local and international skating businesses. What began as a small retail store, now houses the widest selection of inline skates, urban scooters, and skateboards in Singapore.
Despite being one of the many sporting goods businesses in the region, Hvper Sport managed to achieve great success in building a name for itself by not only providing quality merchandise but also furnishing an avenue to unite the skating community of people who shared the same passion and devotion to the sport. Members of the community started to show up upon Hvper Sport to gather and skate every weekend. Hvper Sport became the go-to hideout spot for many in the early 2000s and made them the prime supplier for many skating activity products in the industry.
As pioneers of the industry, the duo also managed various teams of National Skating Athletes to compete in numerous competitions worldwide, they managed to achieve more recognition and exposure for the sport thereafter.
Moving forward a couple of years in, with the increase in the number of ecommerce platforms and in the number of people relishing in the sport, Eddie and Shirley decided to venture into a new field of their business which brings about the creation of Hvper Sport online with the purpose of providing holistic one stop skate store that you can find all equipments relating to skating.
As of today, Hvper Sport is the sole supplier of renowned brands like Seba, Freestyle, and Takino on this little red dot. We’ve made a name for ourselves by providing excellent after-sale services as well as impeccable customisations to suit our customers’ needs.
