In October 2013, we launched screen trading of metallurgical coal, with the aim of bringing price transparency to this opaque market. Our online trading platform enables market participants to trade standardised coal contracts efficiently and anonymously but with full price and volume transparency. 3. We communicate all our trading data to the market and created a robust, fully transparent methodology for coal price index calculation. As a result, the globalCOAL NEWC Index is now established as the leading benchmark for coal prices in Asia-Pacific.
