Firmus Arcana is the business name of Firmus Arcana Group Pty Ltd which is a social enterprise assisting individuals to build and grow their small public practices across diverse professions. We offer both a shared infrastructure/services platform and an open, multi-disciplinary network, through which members enjoy a balance between autonomy and collectivity whilst leveraging on the synergies among members. We assist members to overcome many of the typical challenges faced by small practices thereby strengthening them to compete more effectively against larger service providers in a more leveled playing field, so that they can revel in the practice of their professions.
Recognising the important role of small professional public practices in supporting the development of an economy and in providing accessible, cost effective services to consumers, we pursue social innovation to create a sustainable alternative to the traditional, large professional practice business model by retaining the strong suits and avoiding the shortcomings, of the latter. At the same time, we champion for the social cause of empowering individuals disadvantaged by social or physical attributes such as social status, age and disability, to fulfil their aspiration of starting and running their own professional practices.
We intend to eventually become a company listed on the Australian stock exchange so that like-minded public can join us in the second phase of the company's evolution to foster further social innovations. We are not a professional association, a franchisor, a consulting/coaching firm, a think tank, a business/service club or an alliance for small professional public practices, though we would share some of such organisations' characteristics through a best-of-breed approach to our organisational development. Rather we are a new type of co-operative striving for the betterment of the society by improving the competitiveness of our members and the small business economy.
